Mindset & Confidence
Encouragement for navigating body changes, building confidence, and creating progress without perfection.
A Personal Note
Confidence in a Changing Body
There was a time when I felt extremely frustrated with my body. My clothes no longer felt comfortable, my confidence began to fade, and I did not want to go out as much as I once did.
What made that season even more difficult was not fully understanding what my body was experiencing. Along with hormonal changes, I was navigating sleepless nights, restless legs, brain fog, joint pain, and painful trigger fingers. I have undergone surgery and still receive injections in both hands when needed. It was not easy, and it affected much more than my physical appearance.
My turning point began when I sought guidance from a qualified healthcare professional and had my hormone levels evaluated. Learning more about what I was experiencing helped me make informed decisions about my own health instead of continuing to struggle without answers.
I also continued to move. I kept strength training, swimming, biking, and walking or jogging. Movement reminded me that my body was still strong, capable, resilient, and worthy of care—even while it was changing.
We are what we repeatedly do. Confidence does not always return overnight. Sometimes, it is rebuilt one choice, one workout, and one promise kept to yourself at a time.
Give yourself grace as your body changes.
If you are struggling to recognize yourself in a changing body, first give yourself grace. Seek medical guidance when needed, continue learning about what your body is experiencing, and remember that you are not alone.
What is right for your body may look different from what is right for someone else. Stop comparing your journey to theirs. Begin honoring your own needs, caring for the body you have today, and living your best life in it.
Your body may be changing, but that does not mean it is failing you. Give it the patience, support, movement, and care it deserves so you can begin looking and—most importantly—feeling your best.
Progress does not require perfection. It begins with grace, knowledge, and the choice to keep showing up for yourself.
